COMPETITIONS ENTERED: All the usual ones plus the Sunday FA Challenge Cup.
HOPES FOR THE SEASON: I'm not quite sure how to set targets for this season on the basis that we come straight from an invincible treble-winning campaign which is literally impossible to top. The treble treble sounds pretty sexy, but traditionally it is always harder to defend a winner’s trophy than to win it in the first place.
Realistically speaking our main priority as always will be the league and anything else will be a bonus. We will be there to be shot at but we are confident we can successfully defend our league championship.
PLAYERS OUT: It has been a frenetic summer of transfer activity. We started off by losing Yishai Last and Danny Kon who both went on Aliyah as well as young Yehuda Korman and Jacob Gold . We were then dealt a big blow when Yoav Lebens decided to take his hair and his mum and dad across Mill Hill to join his mates at FC team and all of a sudden we looked pretty short.
We were also dealt the bad news that our three-year unbeaten home fortress at Hadley FC will be unavailable this year and we will have to move up the road to Mill Hill Village Sports Club.
PLAYERS IN: We have managed to make some excellent new signings. We raided Raiders for extremely promising and talented youngster Ethan Zone who can play either at full-back or on the wing, as well as young Maccabiah Michael Kenley from Brady who will give us a great option up front. We also delved into the lower divisions to snap up one of the hottest youngsters around called Dovi Fehler who is a dynamite feisty forward. We were especially impressed in that he insists on playing with his kippah on which makes Hendon the perfect club for him to ply his trade. However, possibly the coup of the summer came late on when from the beach in Tel Aviv I managed to persuade Simon Peterman that his talents deserved winners medals and that he should come and join us. We were delighted when he accepted and we expect him to fill in the gap created by the absence of Yoav. We have strengthened with other players as well from the Bs who have folded although we are yet to totally finalise.
All in all though what initially looked like a disastrous summer has turned out well and we are delighted with the players we have brought in.
ONES TO WATCH: Apart from the obvious (Greg, Ari and Yoav K), I will make two bold predictions before a ball has even been kicked. Avi Korman will win Young Player of the Year and Dovi Fehler will be the top Premiership scorer. You heard it here first! I also think Ethan Zone will have an exceptional year playing behind Greg Corin.
MAIN RIVALS: I expect the league to be a three-horse race between us, Norstar and an ever-improving Oakwood. We are more than ready to go again and they will have to go some to stop us.
CAPTAIN: Ari Last
WHAT WILL YOUR TEAM BRING TO THE LEAGUE THIS SEASON? Flowing attacking football, great spirit, no back-chat to referees, lots of goals and plenty of clean sheets. We will also be delighted and very proud to show off our spanking new shiny kits thanks to our new generous sponsors at CMC markets.
