It's been a busy summer off the pitch for Cats chief Lester Jacobs who has set the bar high for his players in season 2014/15.
Which competitions are you entering MSFL, Division Two, The Cyril Anekstein Cup
What are your hopes for the season?
It must be promotion. It hurt everyone to allow a seven point lead slip to finish in fourth place last season. So we’re determined to put that right.
Have you made any new signings?
The largest number of signings at one time that I can remember. Incoming are Dan Cohen, Josh Krewne, Andy Charles, Daniel Green, Zak Mcleod.
Have any players left? Outgoings include three Cats stalwarts David Powell (Royal Navy) and brothers Gabriel & Reuben John, whilst Jeff Gotch, Ben Swart and Gidi Matlin have moved on.
Which players would you describe as the ‘ones to watch’?
Our keeper Guy Ben Aroya and Player of the Year midfielder Gazza Hill - neither will ever let us down.
Which team/s do you expect to pose the biggest threat? Pass - every club makes pre-season changes. We can’t worry about them so we’ll just take them on as they come.
Captain: Our regular skipper is Adam Luria, with the biggest mouth, Gaz Hill as his deputy. But we have strong leadership and big voices all over the park.
What will your team bring to the league this season?
I think that at last we have goals in us from all positions and I can honestly say that this looks to be the best Catford Maccabi squad since back in our Premier days. So hopes are high to start the climb back there and round off our 50th year with a promotion
