Maccabi Manchester Yellow are the shock early-season pacesetters in the MJSL.

Anton Radiven’s newly assembled side maintained their 100 per cent record thanks to a 3-2 win at sister club Maccabi Manchester Blue.

The visitors showed their fighting qualities after falling behind to first-half goals from Jake Adshead and player manager Jonny Rose.

But the Yellows launched a stirring comeback after Marcus Jackson’s double and Sammy Dennison made it three out of three.

Radiven said: “It’s still early days and we won’t get ahead of ourselves. But I could not have asked more of my players. We are growing in confidence with every game."

Jonny Franks struck a hat-trick to give Heaton Park Rovers’ season lift-off.

HPR, among the title challengers, had slipped to back-to-back defeats before Franks’ rescue act settled this nine-goal thriller with South Manchester Sports 3rd.

Keith Herman (2), Felix Shallom and Stephen Chester were on target for the hosts.

But Franks had the final say with Joe Copland and Harry Roache also chipping in for David Seligman’s HPR side.
