Manchester United have donated £500 to Hapoel Tel Aviv’s fans association, which holds a 20 per cent stake in the club.

The donation followed a documentary about former United player Eric Djemba Djemba on MUTV. The Cameroon midfielder now plays for Hapoel.

A United spokesman said: “We were impressed by the passion of the Tel Aviv fans and wanted to do something to show our appreciation for Tel Aviv’s red devils.”
