Danny Myers and Simon Shelley fired Faithfold to an impressive win over Maccabi Masters League new boys Chigwell Athletic in Division One.
Beaten 4-2 by Scrabble Harmen in their opener, David Garson's men bounced back in style, with Myers lobbing home the first goal over Marc Jacobs in an entertaining affair.
Shelley showed excellent composure to score a twice-taken penalty, before Dan Castle set up a grandstand finish with a close-range finish for Chigs.
A goal from Adam Gishen earned former champions Brady Maccabi A a point against HMH. Neil Kochane levelled for the newcomers.
There were goals galore in Division Two, with cup winners EDRS Stonegrove crashing nine past Brady Maccabi B.
Gary Shaw was the star of the show - making his first competitive start after a long injury lay-off, he began the rout from the penalty spot, and his goal was followed by strikes from Martin Seifert (3), Marc Schneiderman (2), James Bloom, Tony Platman and Phil Silver.
Two of the division’s big guns faced up to each other as Maccabi London Lions entertained Glenthorne United, and it was the visitors who found themselves 2-0 up at the interval courtesy of goals from Gary Adams and Paul van Gelder. But Lions roared back in style, with four second-half goals to run out 4-2 winners.
Zigzag Marshside recorded their first win of the campaign with a 3-1 victory over Hendon. Former Manchester City star Barry Silkman put the Harriers ahead with a deft chip, but Fara Moghim drew Zigzag level following an excellent run and shot.
Moghim scored the goal of the game, with a 30-yarder put Zigzag ahead before Paul Herszaft sealed the win.
