Chigwell Athletic, Marshside and Glenthorne registered victories in the latest round of matches in the Maccabi Masters League.
January 15, 2018 10:01Chigwell Athletic moved up into second place in Division One after goals from Scott Warren (2), Anthony Mendel (2), Steve Summers and Lloyd Becker earned them a 6-3 win over HMH.
Jamie Beaumont, James Temple and Jeremy Teacher replied for the basement battlers.
In Division Two, Temple Fortune took a first-half lead against Marshside, through Robert Botkai, but were unable to capitalise on the advantage and eventually succumbed to goals from Mark Davies and Andrew Cohen.
Marshside goalkeeper Nick Nathan secured the points with a fine penalty save, securing the points for Marshside in a 2-1 win that takes them into second spot.
Glenthorne edged out St John’s Wood Tigers 3-2 to move into third, thanks to goals from Lloyd Nygate, Adam Lennard and Greg Morris.
Steve Gold and Darryl Lazarus scored for Tigers.
