A hat-trick from Danny Sugarman helped CHIGWELL ATHLETIC move to within a point of leaders North London Raiders, with a game in hand, after their 6-2 victory over Waldaf Town.
Top-scorer Adam Stolerman (2) and Mark Conway sealed the win. Nicky Hunt and Alex Bourne replied for Waldaf.
SCRABBLE came from a goal down to beat FAITHFOLD 3-1. Louis Taylor had put Faithfold ahead but Scrabble hit back with strikes from Steven Moss and Scott Ansher (2).
Faithfold player-manager David Garson commented: "We're feeling a little bit hard done by on Sunday as we should have won comfortably."
There were three evenly-contested games in Division Two. Dean Poster and Roger Kaye gave BRADY MACCABI B a 2-0 lead over TEMPLE FORTUNE, but two late strikes from James Ryan evened the scores at 2-2.
And Grant Morgan’s goal was enough to earn ST JOHN'S WOOD TIGERS a win over MARSHSIDE.
But the most notable result of the day was the battle between the top two, with MACCABI LONDON LIONS maintaining their perfect record by the narrowest of margins, as David Kyte converted Michael Abraham’s cross to give the leaders a 12th successive league win, and with it, the Maccabi Masters League Division 2 title, after edging past EDRS STONEGROVE.
