London Maccabi Lions Under 15s secured a further three points in the White Division of the Watford Friendly league through a convincing 3-1 victory against Northwood.
In difficult conditions, Lions opened the match strongly dominating the majority of the play but were unable to convert their many chances Adam Arnold slotted in a coolly taken penalty in the 24th minute to give Lions the lead but a combination of poor finishing and resolute defending from Northwood kept the score at 1-0 at half time.
Early in the second half, Zak Skry rose up above the Northwood defence to score from a well taken corner from Danny Berschader,
Lions continued to dominate with Northwood rarely troubling their defence.
With 10 minutes to go however, Northwood put together their best move of the game putting striker Liam Baker through who finished clinically to make the score 2-1.
Northwood's confidence rose as they threatened with the possibility of an equaliser, but a sharp Lions counter attack resulted in Jamie Nagioff scoring to put the game beyond doubt at 3-1 with only a few minutes remaining.
The win puts Lions comfortably in a mid table position having won three of their last five matches.
