The Jewish New Year will bring about some significant changes for Maccabi GB as the Community’s largest sports provider has announced that Lord Jonathan Kestenbaum will become an honorary Life President.

The appointment was made at the recent AGM and comes as Stanley Cohen OBE steps down as President after 13 years.

Mr Cohen will become a Maccabi GB Life President after vacating his position. He will be joined by Lord Kestenbaum – who will be leading Team Maccabi GB at the European Maccabi Games 2015 in Berlin as Delegation President – as the organisation’s joint-Life President as of immediate effect.

In addition, it has been announced that Maccabi GB’s Chairman, Michael Ziff, will end his tenure in September 2015 and will then become the organisation’s President. His successor has been announced as David Pinnick, Maccabi GB’s current joint-Vice Chairman. David has recently been voted in as Chair-elect and will begin his role after Rosh Hashanah next year. Current joint-Vice Chairman, Daniel Collins, will continue in his position.
