Heaton Park Rovers’ season went from bad to worse after they were left stunned by a second-half comeback Maccabi Manchester Blues in a 4-3 defeat in the MJSL Joan Collins Premier.

Jonathan Franks (2) and and James Lewis had the hosts cruising. But they tired visibly after the break and Maccabi Manchester Blue seized the initiative.

Nathan Pitt’s penalty began the fightback before Jose Castle struck. Moishe Hasid weighed with a brace to complete the fightback few saw coming.

Maccabi Manchester Blue broke their duck but HPR – who were hit with a six-point penalty last week – were down on their luck.
