Chigwell and Hainault defeated local rivals Nazeing Common by 13 runs thanks to an impressive bowling and fielding performance.

Chigwell chose to bat first but with five quick wickets taken captain Matt Murray's side were always up against it. Jamie Stevens took 36 runs and Stuart Kaye a further 21 but a valiant last wicket of 25 left Chigwell all out for 142 from 31.4 overs, and with a mountain to climb.

As Nazeing came in to bat they would have been confident of sealing the win, but Alex Katseph and Stuart Kaye kept the bowling tight. They had to wait until the 13th over to take the first wicket though after Murray made a good catch. Stevens and Danny Myers then came to bowl, and the former took three wickets as Chigwell made life difficult for their opponents.

Nigel Katseph replaced Myers and bowled 3 overs, taking two for 10, and Murray then took another wicket to leave Nazeing 13 wickets short.
