"Los Camden still a work in progress," says Kay

HMH picked up after the opener, frustrating Camden with solid defensive work, this culminated in Blancos losing a player to the newly formed sin-bin on 40 minutes having to play out the last five minutes of the half and the first five minutes of the second with with ten men.

The second half started in the same manner as the first, with HMH dominating possession using their one-man advantage. HMH’s rugged determination was met by a resilient well-oiled Camden defence that have found answers in stopping many attacks this season. With the only notably chance occurring on the 64 minutes when HMH’s Adam Abadi was slipped through on goal only for Gav Krieger to make a vital sliding block importantly keeping the deficit at one goal.

Krieger was rewarded with an equaliser on 67 minutes; Kane Gilbery’s corner was met by the colossal Mike Khalastchi who headed the ball back across goal where the waiting Krieger took a touch and finished from three yards out.

The next ten minutes saw end-to-end football with both team believing they can get all three points. On 80 minutes, Camden defending a corner, headed clear through Johaan Jordi, the ball dropped to Sade on the edge of his own box. He turned his man and continued parading down the left channel beating four HMH players. His trickery and bravery was met by a cool finish from a tight angle under the onrushing HMH keeper which sparked scenes of jubilation as Camden yet again came from behind.

HMH might feel hard done by to not come away without any points in a game they put so much work into but take nothing away from Camden who’s hard work, determination and flowing football have them fighting at the top end of the table.

Jubilant Camden boss Stirling Kay told JC Sport: ‘I am so proud of the lads - this is a team with a never-say-die attitude that does not know when they are beaten. We were unlucky to go behind by freak goal and the boys rallied at half-time and got stuck in and ground out the result. I believe we deserved for the way we played today.

"Although we are playing some great football and are getting some good results, I believe we can find an extra gear and will be working on that in training.

"Some praise needs to go to our defence where Josh Tiano, Mike Kalatschi, Gav Krieger and Josh Cohen with the evergreen Johann Jordi in front of them nullified a top HMH side.

"Best of luck to Avi Goldberg and his team - it was a well-fought game and we look forward to battling with them at the top end of the table come the end of the season’.

HMH boss Avi Goldberg: "All credit to Stirling’s team. LC came out the blocks fast and aggressive and it took us a long time to find our game.

"It started badly as three players failed fitness tests which reduced us to 12 and of those 12 three went to Kings Langley instead of Borehamwood!" 

"After scoring, we started to impose their brand of football, particularly in the first half of the second half, where they were unplayable and LC could not get out of their own half but we could not turn that dominance into goals".

Goldberg went on to say: "It was a disappointing result but credit to Stirling’s team who battled away and showed they are a difficult team to beat."
