Simon Linden, player-manager of Blizzard Storm, hailed the character shown by his team after they won the top of the table clash against Los Blancos in Division Four.

Both sides went into the game boasting 100 per cent records but a goal in each half from Alex Rubin moved Blizzard to within three points of leaders Glenthorne B with a game in hand.

Linden said: "It was always going to be tough but we stepped up to show what we can do on the big occasion."

A last-minute winner from Jewventus old boy Louis Taylor got North West Neasden C off the mark. They beat promotion rivals 4-3 with Adam Levene, Richard Braham and Jon Benjamin also scoring. Jewventus' goals came from Richard Fogelman (2) and Gab Stone.
