London Maccabi Lions Under 14s progressed into the fourth round of the Watford Friendly League Challenge Cup with a 3-2 victory over Borehamwood Youth.

Having gone 0-1 down to a bit of sloppy defending, the Lions kept their composure and started to get their passing game together.

Things could have got worse 10 minutes into the second half as Borehamwood were awarded a penalty. However, Jake Krais, the Lions keeper, came to his side’s rescue, with a smart save.

Jack Davis soon hauled the Lions level and Lions’ fortunes improved when they were awarded a penalty after a marauding run from Ben Winters was illegally halted. Dominic Feldman’s resultant penalty was saved but he reacted sharply to smash home the rebound.
