Celtic manager Neil Lennon has launched a scathing attack on the Israeli Football Association.

Lennon was incensed after Beram Kayal returned to Glasgow with an ankle injury sustained during Israel's 4-3 international defeat by Ivory Coast last week.

He said: "You'd like to think the Israeli doctor would have called our doctor and let us know the extent of the injury, say within an hour of the game. It's common courtesy."

Israel FA spokesman Gil Lebanony told the JC: "There is no obligation to immediately report injuries to a player's club. Kayal was examined by the team doctor after the injury, and he felt certain that there was no fracture, and told Kayal to report immediately to Celtic's doctor on returning to Glasgow the next day. But bearing in mind Neil Lennon's response, we promise that next time Kayal is injured, and let us hope there will never be a next time, we will report to him within an hour of the game's end."
