"We played some really good football against Rodley Barge and hopefully that will continue.”

Woolman’s quadruple strike was followed by two from Gilman, while Amar netted an outrageous 35-yard screamer to cap a remarkable first-half.

Richard Black, who missed a first-half penalty, finally found the net after the break, while Gilman completed his hat-trick to seal the win.

Maccabi face league leaders Waggon Athletic in the next round but Selwyn is remaining confident.

“It’s a very tough draw but on our day we can beat anybody,” he said.

“I would rather play the better teams and win 1-0 than face a lower side and win by eight or nine.

“The players will rise to the occasion and we’re looking forward to it.”

Meanwhile, Leeds Maccabi 2nd crashed out at the first hurdle after going down 2-1 against Republica International.

Oliver Abrahamson gave Maccabi the lead but Simon Fisher's men failed to hold on as they slumped to yet another defeat.
