Nathaniel Lane finished third at the Commonwealth Trail Ultra Distance Championships.
Lane covered the very challenging five-lap 53.7km course in 3:38.09. His performance at Newborough Forest in Anglesey helped Wales take the team gold.
Lane said: "I was delighted with the result. It was very much a race of attrition. The course was a lot more severe – in particular the sand a lot more sapping – than athletes initially realised. Around a third did not finish."
