"Before I talk about the game, I just want to give huge credit to Oakwood and Dan Kristall - they were struggling for players with only 11 and then a man went down injured and had to go off. It was another hour before they had an 11th man turn up. It’s so easy to pull out of a game and there’s so many teams who would (and have done). We play Sunday league to actually play football and if only more teams were like them we would get a lot more football played."
It was an open game where Hendon had the majority of possession. They forced the Oakwood goalkeeper into several good saves but in truth it was a matter of time before they finally broke the deadlock.
It took Hendon nearly 80 minutes but Yehuda Korman finished a one-on-one nicely to give us the lead before Chaim Korman added the second before the end.
Sapler told JC Sport: "The games against Oakwood are always good quality and there’s a healthy mutual respect but competitive rivalry and they are fun games to watch and play in.
"We look forward to the cup game against Camden next week which we hope will actually go ahead."
