Klinger: We need to step up

Michael Klinger is adamant his Redbacks side can become a force in the Sheffield Shield cricket – despite suffering a nightmare end to the season.

The Redbacks finished second from bottom in the league following a four-wicket defeat by Tasmania.

Klinger enjoyed a successful season in the Twenty20 competition after leading the side to their first trophy in 15 years following victory in the Australian Big Bash.

The former Melbourne Maccabi man impressed enough to earn a lucrative deal with Indian Premier League side Kochi ahead of this year's tournament.
