Michael Klinger helped South Australia rewrite the history books as the Redbacks stormed to glory at the Big Bash.
Captain Klinger became the first Redbacks skipper to lift a trophy in 15 years as his side saw off New South Wales in the final of Australia's domestic Twenty20 competition.
The in-form opener smashed 30 off just 18 balls as his side claimed the $100,000 prize and their first silverware since winning the Sheffield Shield back in 1996.
Chasing 153 to win, South Australia cruised to an eight-wicket win with two overs to spare in front of their home crowd at the Adelaide Oval.
And after helping the Redbacks exorcise the demons of last year's final defeat by former club Victoria, Klinger heaped praise on his team-mates.

"It's fantastic for South Australian cricket," he said.
"We are doing a lot of things right, sometimes performances don't really show it.
"I thought all our bowlers did a really good job. We were really disciplined in the field, we missed a couple of chances but that will happen in this format - as long as our intent is good which it was, I'm really happy with the boys."
Klinger, who narrowly missed out on being named State Player of the Year following a stellar season, has already secured himself in the upcoming Indian Premier League.
The 30-year-old has signed a two-year deal with the Kochi franchise and is set to earn a lucrative sum from the move.
But the former Melbourne Maccabi man star insists he is still fully focused on ensuring the Redbacks end the domestic season with a flourish.
"We're still very much in the four-dayers but for now, I just want to enjoy this moment."
