Prolific batsman Michael Klinger has had his route into the English county game blocked by changes to work permit regulations.
Tipped for an Ashes call-up, the South Australia star is ineligible as he does not hold an EU passport and is yet to represent his country.
Citing the reason for his frustrations, Klinger said: “You need an Australian contract and either played one Test match in the last 24 months, 15 combined one-dayers, Twenty20s in the last 24 months or be in the most recent Australian touring squad.”
London Maccabi Vale 1st have been drawn at Harrow Town in the CCC Cup.
