Kenya's Raymond Kipkoech claimed victory in a time of 2:26:44 in the Jerusalem marathon.

Kipkoech, 34, took advantage of a bizarre incident when race leaders Mutai Kopkorir and Kiman Njorage took a wrong turn and ended up crossing the finish line of the half-marathon in a different location.

Crowds were then confused to see the first runner to reach the actual finishing line, Robert Kipkoech Cheruiyot, only credited with fourth place.

The women had fewer problems navigating the course, with Ethiopian Oda Worknesh winning their race in a time of 2:50:05.
