Brighton have won the British League Division One after beating nearest rivals Fusion by a single games average having finished level on points.
The champions now face a playoff in May with teams from the north of England to qualify for the Premiership.
Maccabiah medallist Dov Katz captained the side which included Maccabiah men’s singles quarter-finalist Ashley Stokes and former England international Cris Sladden.
In the final round of matches, Brighton drew with Fusion 4-4 and beat Progress 6-2, Generation 7-1 and Woolwell 6-2, with Stokes fighting back from 4-1 down in the final set to clinch what proved to be the crucial win.
Katz said: “The team performed incredibly well against top ranked England players. Stokes excelled once again as did Chinese star Dash Zinghua and Belgian Hans Pillard. We are now in the play-offs and hopefully we can perform to our ability and reach the Premiership, the highest league in British table tennis.”
