Maccabi Haifa moved six points clear at the top of the Israeli Premier Division after beating Hakoah Maccabi Amidar 2-0. Former West Ham striker Yaniv Katan and Gustavo Boccoli earned them their 11th victory in 19 matches.
Nearest challengers Maccabi Netanya needed a late strike from Snir Geuta to claim a point at Bnei Yehuda. Eliran Atar had opened the scoring.
Haim Megrelashvili and Scott Sealy were on the mark as Maccabi Tel Aviv won 2-1 at Hapoel Ironi Kiryat Shmona. Guy Tzarfati replied.
A last-minute free-kick from Ori Luzon earned Maccabi Petach-Tikva a draw at Ashdod for whom Dimitar Makriev netted. Struggling Hapoel Petach-Tikva and Bnei Sakhnin shared the points. Ahmed Kasoum put Sakhnin ahead only for Shimon Abuhatzira to level three minutes later.
