Jacobson ready for FA Cup showdown with Spurs - The Jewish Chronicle

Jacobson will join Wycombe team-mate Scott Kashket in facing Tottenham in the fourth round of the FA Cup. Cardiff-born Jacobson has played in big games and at famous grounds, including Wembley, over the years. But for Jacobson, whose mum Caroline and her side of the family are Spurs fans, it promises to be an occasion never to forget. He said: “It’s strange as they will want me to do well but also for Spurs to win. “There might be some split loyalties for 90 minutes. I’ve been to White Hart Lane before but sat in the stands and it’s an amazing venue. “To get the chance to play there in such a big occasion is fantastic. “I’ve played in the play-off final where more was at stake. But as a one-off occasion it doesn’t get much bigger than this. And we can really enjoy it as promotion is our target.” Jacobson, 30, says his phone has not stopped ringing since the draw was made earlier this month. He added: “I’ve been inundated with ticket requests. Everyone has been coming out of the woodwork. “I have friends and family coming from Wales, there could even be a bus-load of them, while others will be here from America just to be at the game. Nobody wants to miss it.” Spurs will be strong favourites to progress but League Two Wycombe will be looking to Kashket, who has scored 13 goals in just 17 appearances, to help inflict a major shock. “Scott has been incredible since joining us,” remarked Jacobson. “His goals have played a big role in us climbing the table. Nobody will give us a chance but we have to believe. Results down the years prove it is possible.” Kashket marked his return from injury with a goal in Wycombe’s EFL Trophy quarter-final win at Mansfield on Tuesday night.
