Having booked their place in the last eight of the JC Cyril Anekstein Cup last weekend, London Maccabi Lions A will be looking to overcome top-flight opposition for the second week running as they look to progress in the Jewish FA Cup.

Player-coach James Gershfield inspired the Lions to a hard fought 3-2 win over Raiders last Sunday, with Team GB Maccabiah teammate Jordan Marks grabbing the other.

It’s worth remembering that Lions were beaten 3-2 by Brixton under the previous regime, but interim manager Andy Landesberg is confident lightning won’t strike twice.

He told JC Sport: "I am sure that this game will be far less comfortable than our match against them a few weeks ago. That result will count for nothing. The squad continues to grow with the experienced Adam Myeroff now joining the team - his experience and strength will be a welcome addition.
