Aly Raisman won her second medal of the Olympics after clinching the silver in the gymnastics all-round final.
The American was overcome with emotion after her second placed finish in Rio.
It came just 48 hours after Raisman and the rest of her Team USA won gold in the team all-round finals.
But more significantly, it ended four years of Olympic frustration. In London 2012 Raisman narrowly missed out on a podium finish.
But this time there would be no stopping her. She began slowly but recovered ground on the vault and required 14.001 to climb back up to second spot leading into the final floor round.
There would be no mistake as she shed tears of joy upon learning of her success.
Fellow American Simone Biles won gold - just the second time in history Team USA had taken the top two gymnastic slots in the individual events.
Aged 22, Raisman is be the oldest American gymnast to compete at the Olympics since 2004.
Historically, the average age of the USA women’s team has hovered around 16.
But Raisman, with her proud parents watching on, defied her years and was placed second.
