Michael Klinger has been named in the Professional Cricket Association’s Team of the Season.

The Gloucestershire captain was in outstanding form with the bat, smashing 2,208 runs in all forms of the game, including an impressive 1,140 in the LV County Championship.

He hit four centuries in the longer form of the game, as well as one in the Yorkshire Bank 40 and another in the T20 and this week won the top player award at his club.

Overlooked by the Australian team who were ultimately well beaten in the Ashes series, Klinger, 33, admitted that he had to adapt his game to the changing conditions.
