Joe Jacobson admits he was shocked to be released by Shrewsbury Town.

The former Wales under-21 star was named Supporters’ Player of the Season, but he was released by new manager

Micky Mellon after the team was relegated to League 2, despite a late flurry of goals from the left-back.

Jacobson said: "It's a blow and to be honest, I was a little surprised by the decision.
