A new seven-a-side Jewish football league is kicking off in Hendon on Sunday afternoons from October.

The friendly league, which is being run by Hendon United Sports Club, is open to all and designed to appeal to both children and adults who do not want to play in formal league teams.

Anyone from six upwards can make up teams, existing clubs can enter teams, or individuals can enter, in which case the league will help them form teams.

Belinda Blank, chair of the club, said: "We hope this new friendly league will compliment the existing Jewish football league structure and build on it. Our club has 14 teams playing in FA Leagues this year but we believe there are many other boys, and men too, who want to play organised games either weekly or fortnightly but who do not want the commitment of formal league football.
