Hemed has not given up hope of playing in the Premier League, although he has not been offered a contract extension with the Seagulls, and it remains to be seen whether or not he features in the plans of new manager Graham Potter.
“I still have a few good years left in me,” says the 32-year-old striker, “and although there are offers from Israeli teams, I want to stay in Europe.
“There are teams from the Championship and La Liga that want me. Perhaps after next season I’ll return to the Premier League with a Championship team.”
Currently on holiday in Israel, Hemed is suffering from a groin strain and he looks set to miss Israel’s Euro 2020 qualifiers next month in Latvia and Poland .
Hemed declined to comment on reports that he could return to QPR, where he scored seven goals in 27 games in 2018/19, but he indicated he would love to stay in London.
“People told me it was a mistake to go to QPR but it was the right thing to do. It’s a club with a great tradition.
“They were in a bad way when I arrived after four defeats at the start of the season. I scored in my first match and we were unbeaten for 10 games but then I got injured.”
Hemed, whose wife Shunit Faragi is expecting their third child, added: “I’ve played in many cities but London was the best in terms of being part of Jewish and Israeli communities.”
