David Seligman believes Heaton Park Rovers have turned a corner after recovering from their early-season blip.
HPR were expected to once again be in the MJSL title mix but suffered two successive defeats to kick off the new campaign.
But they were back in the goals last week against South Manchester Sports 3rd last week. And they were back in the groove following a 7-2 win over South Manchester Sports 2nd.
Seligman said: “I feel we have turned a corner after a slow start. We didn’t see that start coming but if you are going to lose games it’s better to get it over and done with early on.
"It's pleasing a few players have now hit some form. We need to kick on from here."
Luke Turner led the way for HPR with a hat-trick. James Lewis (2), Harry Roach and Mark Williams also weighed in.
Max Herman and David Searle netted for the struggling hosts.
Seligman added: “Leeds remain the team to beat but I think it’s more of an open league this year."
