Shachar Head admits she surpassed her own expectations after being crowned world champion at the World Drug-Free Powerlifting Federation Championships.
Head lifted 180kg in the deadlift to register a personal best, British, European and world records in the T3 and open 80-90 event.
She started the competition with a lift of 160kg followed by efforts of 170kg and 177.5kg. Having already set three world bests, Head went on to lift 180kg, which she described as “a massive milestone”.
"I honestly can’t believe my performance over the weekend,” said Head, who is 19 and lives in Newton Abbot.
