Dan Uzan, manager of Southgate Harmen A, wants Hendon United A to win the title after they hit his team for six to go top of the Premier Division.

A hat-trick from Yishai Last plus further efforts from Greg Corin (2) and Ben Kon sealed a 6-1 victory, with new dad Alex Bourne, the husband of Rachel Stevens, registering Harmen's consolation.

"This is the business end of the season and we can't afford many more results like that," said Uzan. "What we realised yesterday was that while we may have plenty of good players in our squad, it takes a long time and a lot of commitment to become a real team, and that's what Hendon are. "They are a great club, with a fantastic attitude and great bunch of boys. None of the usual attitude or moaning and I really hope they go on to win the league this year."

David Garbacz, the Hendon boss, said: "We are looking very solid at the moment and are playing with bundles of confidence. We are delighted to have hit top spot and it will take a decent team to budge us this year."
