“We were clinical here against a very good team. We rode our luck at times and our goalkeper Adam Cross had a superb game. But his show what we are capable of when we field our strongest team.

"On many occasions we’ve only managed to play 11 players. But with all our key players on the pitch, it showed we are a match for anyone."

Jordan Brookes and Adam Boyars handed Haroldeans a first-half lead. But a mixture of poor finishing and Cross’ exploits frustrated Oakhill. And as pushed forward they were left vulnerable in defence with Alistair Goldsmith netting via a free-kick for Haroldeans.

Adam Shiffman added the gloss from close-range to leave Oakhill boss Daniel Rabinowitz scratching his head at the outcome.
He said: "They played well and we were missing a few players but I can’t grumble. It was one of those days when nothing went for us. We hit the woodwork and their goalkeeper played well.

"We hope it’s just a blip and we can recover from this."

Rabinowitz says his young side will need to win every remaining game to wrestle the trophy out of Leeds’ hands.

He said: "We are still in it but we will have to win every single game now. I can’t see Leeds dropping too many points. They look a strong and organised outfit. We need to get this game out of our system and move on as quick as possible."
