Jamie Harris led from the front with a brace as Haroldeans cruised past South Manchester Sports 3rd in the MJSL Joan Collins Premier Division.
Player-manager Harris, playing his first full game for a year, inspired the Merseysiders to a comfortable win.
Alastair Goldsmith, Adam Boyars, David Killey and Josh Roberts were also all on target in a 6-1 demolition.
Harris said: "We started slowly. But they have a young team and once they conceded a few their heads dropped.
"We could have won by a few more goals but it was even up to half-time."
Meanwhile, defending champions Leeds Maccabi handed early-seaon pacesetters Maccabi Manchester Yellow a reality check.
The Yorkshiremen won 4-0 to bring Anton Radiven’s side down to earth. Johnny Goldstone, Nick Vale and Rob Selwyn were on target. To make matters worse, Aaron Englander was red carded for the league leaders.
