MJSL league leaders Haroldeans are set to be without a whole host of players for Sunday’s showdown with Sporting JLGB.
Goalkeeper Mike Cross, midfielder Simon Gould and the prolific Jamie Harris have all been ruled out with boss Ivan Gee facing a selection headache.
Haroldeans have won all seven of their league games this season and sit seven points clear at the top of the table following a blistering start to the season.
Adam Cross is likely to continue in goal in place of his brother, while midfielder Cabral Christian will also start as his suspension has yet to kick in.
Christian became the second Haroldeans player to be red carded in as many matches after being sent off during the recent 5-0 thrashing of Republic 2nd.
But boss Gee is adamant the Bumblebees will keep their cool against a Sporting side desperate to inflict a first defeat of the season on the Merseysiders.
“I can guarantee we’ll manage to keep all our players on the pitch this week,” said Gee.
“I had a word with Cabral after the sending off and hopefully that won’t happen again.
“The game against Sporting will be our toughest yet and because we’ve got a few players out it might mean some of the lads playing out of position.
“But we’re still very confident we can get a result. We’ve had a great start to the season and it’s all been going very well so far.”
Haroldeans have plundered 35 goals in seven games so far this season with striker Bobby Abrams the stand out star for Gee’s side.
“Bobby has been sensational for us this season and is an outstanding player,” added Gee.
“He’s come back after three years with Hyde Park where he was during his time studying in Leeds and he’s been fantastic.
“But the whole team has been in great form and hopefully we can continue that over the next few weeks.”
