Phil Peters admits he is relishing his new role as manager of Hampstead Heath FC.
The former NLR boss accepted an invitation to lead the new team in the Hertfordshire Senior County Division One and has signed several MGBSFL regulars for the Saturday league.
Faithfold duo Rocky Spitzer and Dan Perkins, along with Dec Selbo and Marc Harris of FC Team have been drafted in. Youngster Ethan Zone, who played under Peters at NLR, and Lions trio Connor Perl, Adam Klein and Dec Green are also on board.
Peters will be working with Team Maccabi GB at next year’s European Maccabi Games and he believes his experiences with Hampstead will stand him in good stead for Germany.
He said: “One of a number of reasons why I parted company with NLR was to ensure I wasn’t compromised with my Jewish football commitments.

“Our squad for Berlin will be coming together once a month in the build-up and my Sundays remain free for this reason.
“I accepted an offer to manage the club before the season started and I am looking to build a competitive squad based on a similar footballing philosophy to what we had at Norstar.
“The committee have given me time to mould the team and have not set any specific targets in terms of league position for this season.
“I imagine they will reassess next summer but we’re optimistic about how things are going, and I’m enjoying this new challenge immensely.”
Hampstead suffered their first defeat last weekend, going down 5-2 against Broadfields United.
