The Israel FA is in no rush to name a successor to Luis Fernandez whose contract expires in December.
The appointment of an Israel manager is not expected before March 2012 with former Hapoel Tel Aviv boss Eli Guttman the firm favourite to get the post.
Avram Grant reportedly has an open invitation to return to the job he held from 2002 to 2005 but the former West Ham manager still feels he can find a position in England.
There has been disappointment over the Euro 2012 qualifying campaign. Last week's 2-0 victory over Malta with goals from Lior Rafaelov and Rami Gershon left Israel in third place in Group F behind Greece and Croatia with 16 points from 10 games.
Fernandez said: "The campaign was not a success but nor was it a failure. After all, the team hasn't qualified for a tournament finals since 1970. I think I moved the team forward and they learned from my experience."
