Avram Grant was pelted with cigarette lighters after failing to get his first win in his second game in charge of Partizan Belgrade.
The former Chelsea manager was targeted by his own supporters following the goalless draw against Sloboda Sevojno.
Grant said: "Football is a game of goals and we failed to score, but the players put in a great deal of effort and the fans should learn to respect that."
