Russell Goldstein described England’s qualification for the next round of the Futsal World Cup as a dream come true.
Cheered on by his family, Goldstein, 21, featured heavily in England’s victories over Wales, Denmark and Israel.
He said: “It was an excellent experience, especially to be the first England team to ever qualify for the main futsal World Cup qualifying stage."
Goldstein, who had an assist in the opening 4-2 win over Wales, says his teammates enjoyed their first experience of Israel, where matches were played at the Maccabiah venue of Neve Marom Hall in Ramat Gan.
"They enjoyed the weather and the city and thought it was a lovely place to be,” said Goldstein. “All the facilities where amazing to play in.
"It was amazing to have my whole family out there watching and to be able to share that special moment with them and the whole team."
The victories have helped England progress to the next phase where they will play Belgium, the Ukraine and hosts Hungary. England will also play two warm-up matches against Poland next month.
