Gold left frustrated after Buckingham defeat

Spartan South Midlands League Division One
Buckingham Athletic 1 London Lions 0

Lodnon Lions failed to build on Wednesday night’s impressive performance and win over Wodson Park losing by a solitary goal to Buckingham Athletic.

The continuity manager Tony Gold wanted to take into the game was all but annihilated with three of the back four from Wednesday’s clean sheet unavailable or unable to play.

How Lions failed to leave Buckingham without at least a point is a mystery. Dominating 90 per cent of the game, they certainly deserved better, but sometimes football can be a cruel game and one poor lapse of concentration defensively resulted in a soft goal and proved decisive with Lions left chasing the game on a dreadful pitch.
