Camila Giorgi eased into the second round of the Ladies Singles at the French Open following a straight sets victory over Alizé Lim.
Giorgi of Italy was far from her fluent best, producing 31 unforced errors in a 6-3, 6-2 victory.
Giorgi will play Kiki Bertens in round two. Bertens surprised third seed Angelique Kerber in three sets, winning the decider 6-3.
There was disappointment for the two Jewish entrants in the Men's Singles, with Dudi Sela of Israel and Diego Schwartzman of Argentina eliminated in the opening round.
