Team GB are set to take the third largest delegation to the Jewish Olympics in July. The squad contains 504 athletes, managers, coaches and administrative and medical staff.
David Pinnick, head of delegation said: “ Our rugby squad are keen to add to their forwards and we have lost a couple of junior soccer players who need to be replaced.
“A few of our athletes are carrying injuries and are working hard to regain fitness in time for the Games. But we are very hopeful that we will now maintain these numbers as it would represent a 15 per cent increase on our delegation size compared with 2005 – no mean feat in these troubled financial times.”
Maccabi Australia’s two Masters teams, the Over 35s and Over 45s, have pulled out of the competition.
