Midfielder Dean Furman made his Bradford City debut two days after signing a five-month loan deal from Scottish giants Rangers.
The former Chelsea academy player has joined the League 2 title hopefuls in a bid to gain more first team action after spending the early part of the season on the bench at Ibrox.
Furman, 20, was unable to help the Bantams avoid defeat at Aldershot Town after coming on as a sub.
The South African-born player was hoping to become a regular in the Rangers team this season but manager Walter Smith has signed several midfielders.
Furman said: "Initially, I wanted to stay and fight for my place at Rangers but when Stuart McCall contacted the club I jumped at the chance. He is a Rangers legend and I know I can learn a lot from him. Bradford are a big club and they regularly get 14,000 spectators for home matches.
"I don't know a lot about League 2 but I think the standard is much better than people give it credit for."
Although a permanent move is a long-term possibility, Furman hopes to impress during the loan spell "and return to Ibrox a better player".
