Foreman ready for Davis on road to new title shot

June 2, 2016 15:24

Yuri Foreman will make the second appearance of his latest comeback against journeyman Jason Davis at the Resort World Casino in Queens, New York.

Foreman, the former WBA world light-middleweight champion, fought for the first time since 2013 when he took a unanimous decision over Lenwood Dozier at the Barclays Arena in his home neighbourhood of Brooklyn, New York, in December.

The 35-year-old Belarus-born fighter, who grew up in Israel, became an ordained rabbi during his absence from the ring following a managerial contract dispute.

Foreman was four winning fights into his previous comeback after losing the world title he took from Daniel Santos in 2009 to Miguel Cotto on a ninth-round stoppage. But he retired after six rounds of his next outing against Pawel Wolak with a knee injury which required surgery.
