Jonathan Kurrant made a successful start as an England player in the international double-header against Switzerland.

Kurrant, who is 23 and from Abridge, won his first cap in a 3-1 victory in Hereford. This was followed by a 4-1 win 24 hours later.

He said: "The games were played at a very high intensity. These matches are all about fighting for ranking points with a view to qualifying for the 2014 World Cup finals."

Kurrant, who is doing a Masters degree in Sports Coaching at Loughborough University, hopes to be part of the next England squad that will play Denmark in Barking next month.
