The pair are still yet to meet in the league while they will lock horns in the Handicup final. There is also a real chance they could go head-to-head in the Kings Cup.
Joint Flixton boss Stuart Delmonte said: “It was a dire game where the conditions played its part. But it’s all about winning in cup competitions and you won’t get more ugly than this.
"Even the goal we scored was a real scramble. It was a game to forget. Adam Gilman was the man-of-the-match but it was hard to pick out any stand-out performers.
"The main aim was to earn the bragging rights over Manchester Maccabi 1st. We expect further fierce battles with them to come."
In a fame of few chances, Manchester Maccabi 1st were unable to break down a resolute and organised Flixton side following Jacobs' strike.
Maccabi chief Martin Simons said: "We are disappointed to bow out but we know there’s a lot more to play for yet.
"There is little between the two sides. It will be the same in the league. The league will go right down to the wire."
