England FC finished their Olim League season on a high with a 4-2 victory over Jaffa.
Having lost in the semi-finals of the cup last week, England claim maximum points and are in contention to finish runners-up, if other results go their way.
A fixture between these two local rivals always seems to produce an exciting game of football and, as expected, an end-to-end match resulted.
England were caught cold right from the kick off, a habit that they will have to stem for next season, and Jaffa’s Nir HaCohen broke through to lob Roy Meron and give his side a lead inside two minutes.
But England began to show their class and their free-flowing football forced an equaliser 10 minutes later, with Omri Hamama finally breaking his goal drought.
Both sides had chances, but it was England who went in at the break with a 3-1 lead, after Tal Stern scored on his return to the side and new signing Liran Sinai hit a screamer from outside the box.
Jaffa, still reeling from a not-given penalty decision prior to the break, got themselves back in the game early into the second half through Dan Berkley, who beat the offside trap before firing past Meron.
England’s defence held firm to deny Jaffa an equaliser and their efforts were rewarded when Hamama lobbed the Jaffa keeper for his second of the night to secure the points.
