Zac Lewis is my Player of the Month for September following a series of outstanding displays for Hendon United Sports Club A.
Lewis has started the MGBSFL season in excellent form, scoring in every match for David Garbacz’s table-toppers.
Team-mate Josh Harris was another player commended as the Reds started the campaign with four consecutive victories. Redbridge’s Ryan Cole and Sam Sollosi also received praise after a hugely impressive month, as was former Player of the Year Liron Mannie of North London Raiders A.
Jon Jacobs denied Hendon a win-double after scooping the Manager of the Month award. Although Garbacz led Hendon to four wins, the JC panel of judges took into account that Jacobs had masterminded victories of defending champions North London Raiders A, as well as title hopefuls Oakwood and Maccabi London Lions.
Captain marvel Richie Caplin won the top player honour in Division One. The versatile Caplin edged out team-mate Daniel Bean, as well as Nicky Woolf of North London Raiders and Maccabi London Lions B player-maker Benji Weinberger.
Three teams are currently deadlocked at the top of Division One, but in the end there could only be one winner. The honour goes to North London Raiders B bosses Jonathan Adelman and Zack Gothelf following victories over Oakwood B, Scrabble and Faithfold.
Sam Marchant of Lions B and Sam Rank of Redbridge B also came in for special praise after maintaining 100 per cent records.
It’s a Catford & Bromley Maccabi one-two in Division Two following a top-quality start. Mercurial midfielder Yarden Sharon has been the star performer in a memorable month, with manager Jeff Gotch sitting pretty at the top of the table.
Other players to impress include Jimmy Castle of Redbridge C, Max Martin of L’Equipe and top-scorer Jonti Aremband.
Gotch edged out Nick Stern of L’Equipe and Josh Hambling of Redbridge Jewish Care C who boast 100 per cent records in the league from their first three games.
